Chill Spa at the Ice House Hotel is hosting ‘Wellness for Cancer Care Day’ on Friday, October 20, between 2pm and 6pm. Wellness for Cancer Care will give current and recent cancer patients, along with their carers and family, a fun and pampering afternoon with masterclasses, expert talks, and information on how to care for the body, the skin, and of course in doing so, the mind, during or after cancer treatment. There will be delicious drinks and nibbles, a chance to mingle, and mini spa treatments. The small entrance fee of €10 per person will be donated to Mayo Pink Ribbon charity.

Gaming and donuts combine for Cancer Care West fundraiser

Dungeons and Donuts will host its annual Game-A-Thon on Saturday October 28. The 24-hour gaming event, now in its third year, will see gamers playing for a full 24 hours to raise funds for Cancer Care West.

Run Galway Bay set to make history as 4,000 runners descend on Galway

Members of Galway Fire Service, An Garda Síochana, the RNLI and Connacht Rugby Academy came together last weekend for a special ‘Super Hero Day’ to meet the children who have been attending the Niall Tomkins Memorial Kids Club, organised by the children’s charity Hand in Hand http://www.handinhand.ie/. Hand in Hand provide much needed services to families in Galway and around the country who have a child going through the trauma of childhood cancer.
